The North Street Spring Rapid: USCF Rated “Quick” Tournament, 5 rounds at G/24;+5

This will be the SMTX Chess Club’s 2nd quarterly FREE USCF-rated tournament.

This event is FREE because of the generous sponsorship of North Street Curry Shop. Not only do they have amazing food but they also support the local community every chance they get so please support them too! We would literally eat there every day if we could.

WE RESERVE THE RIGHT TO ALTER SECTION RATING CUT-OFFS BASED ON REGISTRATION

Cash Prizes for Championship Section:

• $100 for 1st place
• $75 for 2nd place
• $50 for 3rd place

Cash Prizes for Reserve Section (U1200 & Unrated):

• $75 for 1st place
• $50 for 2nd place
• $25 for 3rd place

In addition to the cash prizes there will trophies, North Street gift cards, and other prizes  in both sections.

YOU READ THAT RIGHT!! A USCF rated tournament with NO ENTRY FEE, free snacks, and sets and clocks WILL BE provided!

While this is a completely FREE tournament, DONATIONS are always welcome and appreciated (but always optional). We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that is 100% volunteer run so we rely solely on donations to bring chess to the Central Texas Corridor.

Here are the tournament details:

• • 5 rounds at G/24; +5
  • 2 Sections: U1200 and Championship. “playing up” is not allowed.
  • March 26th at 11am at Crockett Elementary School (check-in 10:30am-10:50am)
  • USCF membership is required
  • Sets and clocks WILL be provided
  • Completely FREE with NO ENTRY FEE (donations are always welcome but always optional)
  • This tournament is limited to 100 players so don’t delay registering!
  • The first round will start promptly at 11am and players are highly encouraged to arrive by 10:30am.
  • Check-in will be from 10:30am to 10:50am.
