Prizes for Over 1600 Section:

• $50 for 1st place
• Non-cash prizes for 2nd and 3rd place: choose from books, gift cards, and more

Prizes for U1600:

• $40 for 1st place
• Non-cash prizes for 2nd and 3rd place: choose from books, gift cards, and more

Prizes for U1200:

• $30 for 1st place
• Non-cash prizes for 2nd and 3rd place: choose from books, gift cards, and more

Prizes for U800:

• $20 for 1st place
• Non-cash prizes for 2nd and 3rd place: choose from books, gift cards, and more

YOU READ THAT RIGHT!! A USCF rated tournament with NO ENTRY FEE, prizes, free snacks, and sets and clocks WILL BE provided!

While this is a completely FREE tournament, DONATIONS are always welcome and appreciated (but always optional). We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that is 100% volunteer run so we rely solely on donations to bring chess to the Central Texas Corridor.

This is a double round tournament where you get a 2nd Chance each round because you play two games every round, one with the white pieces and one with the black pieces. Every round you can get 0, 0.5, 1, 1.5, or 2 points!

Here are the tournament details:

• • 6 rounds at 3; +2 and two games per round for a total of 12 games.
  • 4 Sections: U800, U1200, U1600, Over 1600.
  • “Playing up” is not allowed unless you are within 100 points of the section floor.
  • May 23rd 2026 at the San Marcos Public Library at 625 E Hopkins, San Marcos, TX 78666
  • Round start times:
    • Round 1 at 1:00 pm
    • Round 2 at 1:30 pm
    • Round 3 at 2:00 pm
    • Round 4 at 3:00 pm
    • Round 5 at 3:30 pm
    • Round 6 at 4:00 pm
  • Saturday, May 23rd at 1pm
  • USCF membership is required
  • Sets and clocks WILL be provided
  • Completely FREE with NO ENTRY FEE (donations are always welcome but always optional)
  • This tournament is limited to 100 players so don’t delay registering!
  • The first round will start promptly at 1:00 pm and players are highly encouraged to arrive by 12:30 pm.
  • Online registration via this REGISTRATION FORM is MANDATORY and ONSITE REGISTRATION WILL NOT BE ALLOWED
